Take A Class And See For Yourself

The modern day mortgage code is a bit confusing without a mortgage expert on your side. But, in case you want to know how it all works, the Federal Housing Administration is offering a loan counseling course pen to the public. The program is called Homeowners Armed with Knowledge (HAWK). You can  read about the HAWK program at HUD’s website.

The FHA is also offering a discount mortgage to anyone that completes a series of these courses (if you’re getting an FHA loan, that is).  This is a great way to learn more about your mortgage options and come in armed with knowledge.  From the official website:

HAWK serves as an umbrella term for several initiatives to link HUD’s Housing Counseling program with FHA-insured mortgage origination and servicing. The HAWK for New Homebuyers pilot will provide FHA insurance pricing incentives to first-time homebuyers who participate in housing counseling and education that covers how to evaluate housing affordability and mortgage alternatives, to better manage their finances, and to understand the rights and responsibilities of homeownership.

They also have a Housing Counselor email list, a great service to the public that cannot afford their own dedicated mortgage professional right here.

Whether individuals shopping for an FHA loan take a course, or a luxury home buyer in the South Bay visits a mortgage banker like myself, they need help navigating their loan options. I’m always here to answer your loan questions, to explain your choices, and to make life just a little bit easier for you.
